In response to 'Refund Bank Charges' comment pointing to a website where an offer is made to deal with bank on someones behalf in return for fee on payout; I myself just claimed them back myself using template letter from elsewhere, and I would recommend others do the same. It would take longer to investigate if one could trust the person or people behind that site.
The website has only existed since last year. I did not easily see a company behind so can't check trading history or accounts at companies house. I guess it is just a self trading individual.
I spotted a minor spelling mistake on website but that sort of thing puts me off using someone for services.

We used a good site to reclaim our charges, though it is quite easy to do yourself with the help of the bbc website. They provide all the letters you need to send out

I saw an interesting article earlier where a man had enough and sent in the bailif to his local branch to seize up to the funds he is owed. Good on him!

I have managed to reclaim £4300 in bank charges with the help of WWW.CONSUMERCORNER.CO.UK
Another member has just managed to get over £17,000 from Abbey in small claims thanks to Shaun. Its a great website without them i would not have known where to start.
Isnt it about time the banks stopped wasting peoples time though and the courts and just pay up. The OFT are just a waste of time on this subject and leaving it to customers to do the dirty work when they could stop it straight away.
well done to www.consumercorner.co.uk
and the other forums that are helping people.
